Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 14, 2026
The short version: the app runs entirely in your browser. Your debt data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it. We don't have a database of your balances. We don't want one.
1. What we don't collect
- We don't require an account. There's nothing to sign up for.
- We don't have a database of your debt balances, payments, rates, or payoff plans. That data lives in your browser's localStorage and stays there.
- We don't track you across the web. No Facebook Pixel, no Google Analytics, no third-party ad networks.
- We don't sell data. We don't have data to sell.
2. What we do collect
Anonymous page-view analytics (Vercel Analytics)
Every time someone loads the site, our hosting provider (Vercel) records: which page was loaded, referring URL, country, device type, browser. No cookies, no IP address storage, no personal identifiers. We use this to see how many people visit and whether the site is growing.
Payment information
The GitHub Pages preview is open access. When paid features are added later, payment processing will be handled by a payment provider, not by this app directly.
Support emails
If you email us (e.g., for a refund), we obviously have your email and whatever you wrote. We use it to respond to you and nothing else.
3. Your data stays on your device
Everything you enter into the app — debt balances, payment amounts, rates, scenarios, and saved plan names — is stored in your browser's localStorage. It doesn't travel to us. It doesn't travel anywhere. If you clear your browser data, it's gone.
If you use the "share link" feature, your data gets encoded into the URL itself (as base64 in the hash). We don't see that URL unless you share it with us. The recipient can see everything you encoded.
4. Cookies
The app uses browser localStorage (technically not a cookie) to persist your settings and open-preview status. We do not use tracking cookies.
5. Children
The app isn't designed for or directed at children under 13.
6. Your rights
Because we don't store your app data on our servers, most privacy requests don't really apply — you already have full control. If you want us to:
- Delete your data: clear your browser's localStorage, or open the app and click any "reset" / "clear" option.
- Get a copy of what we have on you: email us. In this preview, we usually have nothing beyond support emails you sent us.
7. Changes
If we ever start collecting something new, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date changed. We won't slip new data collection in quietly.
